Zara Edgingway is a twenty-six-year-old secretary. She has a daughter that apparently knows-it-all and a best friend that could possibly have the mouth of Satan, but she’s been with her through hell and back. Then there’s the hunk’a’licious biker neighbour finally showing interest in her.
If only she isn’t about to face her next obstacle in life, the one she ran from six years ago: her ex husband.
Talon Marcus is the president of the Hawks Motorcycle Club. For two years he’s had his eye on the quiet, reclusive, yet sassy, neighbour Zara. Finally, he has the chance to claim her as his woman. Just when her past catches up with her, she’ll need, not only his protection, but the help from his biker brothers.
Now, if only she’d stop fighting him along the way.
‘Holding Out’ is really one of those books that just has it ALL!
There’s so much humour and laughter, lots of off-the-scale badass biker hotness but also a fair amount of deep and dark, keeping you turning the pages and making you hold your breath, whilst you wait for the traumas to end!
Zara is a strong, funny lady, hiding from the darkness that ruined her past and could ultimately ruin her future and that of her family, should she be found.
I liked her character – she was witty, sassy and full of spunk… However, sometimes I thought there were times that Zara made light of some serious situations, I’m all for laughs and jokes, but some things just were a bit OTT for me to believe that even the most easy going person wouldn’t be sat rocking in a corner!
Talon Marcus… even his name is badass! As the President of the local Hawk’s Motorcycle Club, Talon is just what you would expect from a hot, alpha biker bad-boy. Smokin’ hot, filthy-mouthed but fiercely loyal to his friends and family. I LOVED him!
I especially loved all of the ‘pet names’ that the entire cast of characters threw at each other, some really had laughing-out-loud! The chemistry between each of the characters was great, whether it was the sizzling attraction between Zara and Talon, the strong bond of friendships, or the love from family, you really feel the connections between them all.
Holding Out is a relatively quick read that will have you smiling, laughing, and holding back tears – sometimes all on the same page! I really enjoyed reading it and seriously cannot wait to read Griz and Deanna’s story!
